Tuition Fees
For enrollment in the Postgraduate Program, a total tuition fee of four thousand euros (€4,000) is required. The amount and payment method of the tuition fees may be adjusted based on a proposal from the Program’s Coordinating Committee, a decision by the relevant Department Assembly, and approval by the Senate of the respective Institution. The tuition fees are paid by the student (or by a third party on behalf of the student) into a maintained bank account of the Special Account for Research Funds (E.L.K.E.) of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). The fees are paid in two equal installments: the first installment at registration and the second installment before the start of the second semester. Upon payment, a receipt is issued, and the student is notified electronically.
Exemption from Tuition Fees
In accordance with Law 4957/2022, postgraduate students whose income (individual or family) does not exceed 100% of the national median equivalent income for individual income or 70% for family income are exempt from tuition fees. Exempt students must not exceed 30% of the total number of students admitted to the Postgraduate Program, and the exemption applies to participation in only one Postgraduate Program. If the number of eligible students exceeds this percentage, they are selected based on a ranking that starts with those having the lowest income.
Scholarships
Scholarships may be awarded to postgraduate students based on the decision of the Program Committee and depending on the income of the Postgraduate Program. Scholarships are provided based on academic and objective criteria (such as academic performance based on the average grade of the previous semester) and must be included in the approved budget of the Postgraduate Program.
The regulations for the Postgraduate Program “Forensic Medicine – Psychiatric Forensics” include provisions for awarding scholarships to students based on academic and objective criteria, according to a decision by the Coordinating Committee (S.E.), in the following cases:
- Full Scholarship: A 100% tuition fee waiver may be granted if the S.E. deems the interview conducted before the candidate’s selection to be excellent.
- Excellence Scholarship: A 50% tuition fee waiver will be awarded to a student who completes the first semester within the prescribed time and achieves the highest academic performance. In case of a tie, the scholarship will be granted to all students with the highest and equal grades.
*The terms, obligations, and rights of the scholarship recipients are determined following a proposal from the Coordinating Committee.
